Nebula Filter Oxygen III (1.25-inch 6.5nm)

We are introducing this High-quality and functional Nebula Filter Oxygen III 1.25-inch 6.5nm. This Explore Scientific O-III filter uses the property of the so-called emission mist. Those objects glow in specific colors, the so-called emission lines. The emission lines are linked to particular chemical elements, "oxygen." The Explore Scientific O-III nebula filter blocks all other colors (and thus almost all artificial light) and only grants the two emission lines of oxygen. The effect is impressive: Suddenly, fog becomes visible in places that appear empty without a filter. For example, in a slightly brightened sky, the Cirrus Nebula NGC 6992 is practically invisible with a 200 mm telescope. When using this filter, you can see the fog and its structures without any problems—This is a must for every amateur astrophotography and visual astronomer.

The mist filters are supplied with an individual test report to be sure that you are receiving high-quality filters.

The narrow pass range of this filter of only 6.5 nm bandwidth works out the weakly glowing emission nebulae even under difficult city conditions or makes them visible in the first place.

The highest contrast Nebula Filter in the series is the Oxygen III, a line filter for only the two oxygen emission lines. An excellent choice for observations of supernova remnants and other nebulae that glow in OIII. Different objects that glow in all parts of the visible spectrum (e.g., galaxies) are reduced visibly, but some ordinarily invisible regions of nebulae are visible. This filter fits all standard 1.25-inch eyepieces and filter wheels. Buy to see it for yourself and add it to your cart now!
